**We collect your email address and whether you have paid. That is close to
all of it.**
We do not sell personal information. We do not run advertising. We do not
share your data with data brokers. We do not track you across other websites.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
**From you, directly:**

**Payment information.** Card details are collected and processed by **Stripe**
and go directly to Stripe. **Watchtower never receives, sees, or stores your
card number.** We receive a customer reference, whether payment succeeded, and
what you are subscribed to.
**Automatically, when you use the Service:**

**We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party
analytics.** The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in.
- We do not ask for your name, your address, or your phone number.
- We do not ask what property you are researching, or why.
- We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell one.
- We do not collect information from children. The Service is not directed to
anyone under 18.
**This section explains something unusual about this Service, and it matters.**
Watchtower publishes **public property records** — records published by public
agencies about real property in Dallas County. Those records sometimes contain
names of property owners, because ownership of real property is a matter of
public record.
**That content is separate from your account data**, and this policy governs
your account data. Two things about the records themselves:
- **Where a public agency withholds an owner's name under a statutory
confidentiality protection, we withhold it too — in every edition we hold,
including editions published before the protection was recorded.** We treat
the protection as permanent rather than as applying only to the edition
that carried it.
- **We do not publish records that describe a person rather than a property.**
Exemption categories that indicate an owner's age, disability, or veteran
status are held out of every part of the Service, at every access level,
even though they are public record. We report on buildings.
**There is no owner search and there never will be.** No part of the Service
accepts an owner's name as a search term. You cannot look up a person on
Watchtower, by design.
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who operate the Service
for us:

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the
rights, safety or property of Watchtower or others.
**We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for
cross-context behavioural advertising**, as those terms are used in state
privacy laws.
- **Account data** — while your account is open, and for a reasonable period
after closure to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- **Billing records** — as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- **Operational logs** — a short period, then deleted.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct,
delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or
restrict certain processing. **Texas, where we operate, provides these rights
to Texas residents, and several other states do the same.**
**To exercise any of them, email us.** We will respond within the period the
applicable law requires. We will not discriminate against you for asking.
**Deleting your account deletes your account.** It does not remove public
property records from the Service, because those records are not about you in
your capacity as a subscriber, and they are published by public agencies
independently of us. If you are a property owner seeking correction of a
public record, the record must be corrected at the agency that publishes it —
we publish what that agency published, and a correction reaches us with the
next capture.
Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form, and never visible to us.
Sessions are carried by a signed, HTTP-only cookie that scripts cannot read.
Card numbers never touch our systems. Access to production data is limited to
those who need it.
**No system is perfectly secure**, and we do not claim otherwise. If we become
aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as
required by law.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email to the
address on your account. The effective date at the top always reflects the
current version.

periods in section 6 match what your hosting provider and Supabase actually
do — a stated retention period you do not honour is worse than a vaguer one
you do.
